Whole Food Challenge – Starting January 10th!

I think we often forget that eating (mostly) whole foods is the foundation to our health. It's easy to get caught up in the details of a specialized diet, supplements, or a new health trend.  While I do believe there is a place for specialized diets and supplements, without a consistent base of whole foods, those can only get you so far!

For me, shifting to eating mostly whole foods over the past 7-10 years has been so beneficial, both physically and mentally. I used to struggle with IBS and other gut issues, almost daily out-of-control sugar cravings, hormone imbalances, and I felt guilty for eating anything “bad”. 

All of the convenience and processed foods had snuck in more than I'd realized. Since the shift to a whole food lifestyle, I have not only healed my gut and hormones (I also did a few other specific diet changes/supplements for this), but also curbed my cravings and developed a balanced (no guilt) relationship with food. Freedom! 🙂

What is a whole foods based diet?

  • Just what it sounds like — eating (mostly) foods that you know what they are and where they came from. Food found in nature — from plants, trees, or animals.  
  • You're crowding out the “not-so-good” with more nourishing foods so you can enjoy your food without feeling deprived or experiencing the negative consequences of poor food choices.
  • A whole-food based diet helps you get rid of sugar/carb cravings.
  • A whole-food based diet doesn’t have to be boring. It is enjoying the many fruits, vegetables, whole grains, meats, fish, nuts, seeds, healthy fats etc.  in a variety of ways!
  • Whole foods nourish your body and provide a great base of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.
  • A whole-food based diet generally improves energy, encourages a healthy weight, decreases inflammation, improves gut, immune, and hormone health, and can help balance blood sugars.
  • A foundation of whole foods provides a peace of mind and confidence boost knowing that you are caring for yourself well.

The Whole Food Challenge is the perfect start for anyone looking to improve their health by eating real foods and a great boost for clean eaters wanting to refocus or find a little more variety! The challenge will provide what you need to be successful:

  1. Eating plans that help you stay full and satisfied
  2. A support group to encourage you (private group chat via client app)
  3. A coach (me) to help keep you accountable and answer any questions you have


If you’ve participated in our challenges previously, this will be very similar but with even more support and accountability. You’ll have a client portal/app, weekly goals/progress forms to fill out, and more! 🙂

  • 4 (or 8) week meal plans with recipes so there’s no guesswork in what to eat.
    • I've worked to keep the meal plans realistic and doable, including the use of leftovers, using easy to find ingredients etc.
