Frequently Asked Questions

I hope this will answer many of your questions, but if you still have questions please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to answer them!

I do not bill insurance, but I can provide you with a superbill which is an itemized receipt with all the billing codes you need to submit to your insurance. If your insurance covers any out of network costs to see a registered dietitian you may receive full or partial reimbursement from your insurance company.

Yes, I take HSA cards.

  • First, I want to hear your story. What got you to where you are now? What have you tried in the past and how did it work for you? What are your struggles and strengths?
  • Let’s talk through the assessment forms you fill out in detail. I want to know your goals, your symptoms, past medical history, labs/testing, supplements, eating habits, exercise habits, sleep, stress, and a bunch of other things to help me understand more of what your root issues may be.
  • I will be honest and straightforward about what I think the best course of action is for you, but if that is overwhelming we’ll take a step back and start slow! I want you to leave our meeting encouraged and hopeful, not overwhelmed.
  • We’ll discuss the big picture plan and then scale it down to 2-3 very specific short term goals to start with.
  • You’ll leave with a better understanding of your body and your unique health issues, a plan to start the healing process, and the tools (meal plans, recipes, education etc) you need to be successful!

For each person, the “diet” I recommend is a bit different. It all depends on your health issues and goals. I won’t tell you to go paleo or vegan…but if you do already follow one of those diets I can definitely still help you!

We work to discover which foods help you heal and thrive and which cause issues. We want you to be able to eat as many foods (non-processed 🙂 ) as possible while still feeling great!

Typically when working with me 1 on 1, I don’t have an exact meal plan for you to follow. Everyone has different needs and preferences. We will talk about meal ideas and often write out a simple meal plan during your appointment.

I don’t leave you hanging though! I have lots of yummy recipes to share with you based on your specific health needs.

If you are just looking for a specific meal plan to follow, check out the personalized meal plans and clean eating meal plans.

Because your cells (and therefore the rest of your body) function based on the nutrients they are given, nutrition plays a role in all health conditions. Most health conditions can be significantly improved by following a whole food, anti-inflammatory diet while supporting digestion, gut health, and balancing hormones.

I specialize in working with:

  • gut disorders such as IBS, SIBO, and constipation
  • balancing hormones for fertility, PCOS, or period problems
  • food sensitivities
  • building a healthy relationship with food

Yes, when appropriate I recommend supplements to assist in your healing journey. I do significant research on supplements before recommending them.

I do receive a small commission when you use the link above, but the price to you is no different — likely cheaper with the 15% discount!

Fullscript is a reputable source for supplements and very easy to work with. You can check out my favorites or search for your favorites via their website.

You can also get a 20% discount through PROOV for hormone and fertility related products such as LH strips and progesterone tests. Click the link below to get the discount or use the code “gracegoalsandguts20”. https://proovtest.com/?rstr=63583

No. I offer nutrition coaching via skype or phone consults if you are not in the Manhattan, KS area.

For follow ups (after the initial assessment) we often meet about once per month. I am flexible based on your needs and what part of the healing process you are in. Sometimes at the start we’ll meet again in 2-3 weeks and often toward the end we’ll meet every 2-3 months.

For personal training most people like meeting 2x/week, but some just need 1x/week and others 4x/week. It’s really up to you!
